QShare Additonal Storage Request Form (2018 - Rev. 2)

There are two types of Group Accounts described briefly below. For more details see the QShare Group Service Agreement found here. All active users also have personal storage as outline below.

Departmental Group Accounts:

Base Service
  • Departmental Groups are any faculty or department at Queen's
  • 10GB file storage
  • Xythos Drive client, licence and software for Windows
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Delegated Administrator training and support can be found here and must be read before requesting account.
Enhanced Service

Ad Hoc Group Accounts:

  • An Ad Hoc Group is any group that is not a direct part of a department or faculty at Queen's
  • $100/annum service fee - includes 1 GB file storage
  • Additional file storage is available. For pricing information, please see the ITServices Service Fee page
  • Xythos Drive client, licence and software for Windows
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Delegated Administrator training and support can be found here and must be read before requesting account.

Personal Accounts:

  • 200MB free storage.
  • Additional file storage is available for staff and faculty, student require staff or faculty to pay for additional storage via account code. For pricing information, please see the ITServices Service Fee page

You must also subscribe to the RSS Feed for outages and notifications for ITServices. (https://notify.its.queensu.ca)
You will be contacted once the storage has been added.


To request additional storage for an existing Group Account please complete this form. The request will be filled within two business days. Who is authorized to request additional storage for Group accounts: Delegated Administator, IT Admin rep or Department head
