Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC)

In 2014, Queen’s University led an Ontario Productivity and Innovation fund project in collaboration with 10 other higher education institutions to identify the potential of shared service opportunities in PeopleSoft. This led to the establishment of the Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC) in November 2015, a collaboration platform for participants to contribute and share existing PeopleSoft documentation and materials, as well as to establish knowledge-sharing connections with peers at other institutions who were facing the same challenges and opportunities.

In Spring 2017, the use of the KCC for PeopleSoft collaboration was retired due to the establishment of the Oracle Canadian Regional user Group (CanRUG), but its existing content remains available to members. The KCC is also being used by two Special Interest Groups (SIGs) organized by the Canadian University Council of Chief Information Officers (CUCCIO) - one for Project and Portfolio Management, and one for Client Services.

Queen’s Role

The Queen’s Project Portfolio Office has been involved with the Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC) since its inception and currently manages its operations.
