Connecting from off-campus

Are you connecting to Queen's resources from off campus? If so, you may need to change the way you are accessing these resources. 

On March 21, 2017 as part of Queen's ongoing security improvements, you will need to use one of the two university supported methods to access Queen's resources on your off-campus device:

1. Queen's Remote Desktop Gateway (RDG), or;
2. Queen's Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The following services will be affected by this change:

  • Remote desktop services, including Windows Remote Desktop (RDP), Apple Remote Desktop, Virtual Network Computing (VNC), and XWindows; 
  • Telnet, and; 
  • Off-campus printing  

To determine if you are already connecting using either the Remote Desktop Gateway or Queen's Virtual Private Network, you can access the step-by-step tutorials on the ITS website. If the images in the tutorials look unfamiliar to you, then you are probably not using one of the supported methods and you will need to configure your device to use one of these methods:
