Startrek Phone Instructions (Wired Unit)
Instructions for Dialing Out
- Plug the adapter into an electrical source.
- Plug the telephone jack into the assigned jack # supplied in our email to the ITAdmin Rep or taped to the phone case.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button.
- Dial ‘9' then the first phone number.
- Once talking to current participant(s), tell them you are going to conference in the next person.
- Press the "FLASH" button to do this.
- When you get a dial tone, dial ‘9' plus the next phone number. If you are calling within the university, just dial the 5-digit extension.
- After the next person answers, press "FLASH" one last time to unite all callers.
- Repeat steps 5-8 until you have called all participants.
- When the call is completed, press "ON/OFF" to turn off the phone.
Note: 6 callers, including yourself, is the recommended maximum.
Instructions for Receiving an Incoming Call
- Plug the adapter into an electrical source.
- Plug the telephone jack into the assigned jack # supplied in our email.
- Do not press the "ON/OFF"' button. It will be sitting in "hang up" mode.
- When the outside party calls the ‘dial in' number supplied in our email, the phone will ring. Press the "ON/OFF" button to answer the call.
- If you need to dial out to other callers, you can at this point, by following steps 5-8 above in the instruction for dialing out. The recommended amount would be up to 4 more participants.
Note: Only one person can call into the phone using the dial-in number provided. You can dial out to other callers if needed, but the incoming call must happen first.
If, when conferencing in a call, you reach voice mail and you need to hang up on that one call:
- If it is an Queen's University internal number: press #83.
- If it is an external number: press "FLASH" button, wait a moment then press the "FLASH" button again and dial "1187".
Startrek Phone with Expandable Microphones
The instructions are the same as above, only the "ON/OFF" is a "TELEPHONE ICON" button and the "FLASH" button is a "CONFERENCE" button instead.

Instructions for Dialing Out
- Plug the adapter from the base station (square box) into an electrical source.
- Plug the telephone jack on the base station into the assigned jack# supplied in our email.
- Press the "TELEPHONE ICON" button to turn on the phone.
- Dial 9+ telephone number.
- Once talking to current participant(s), tell them you are going to conference in the next person.
- Press the "CONFERENCE" button.
- When you get a dial tone, dial '9' + next phone number. If you are call on campus, just dial the 5 digit extension.
- After the last person answers, press "CONFERENCE" button one last time to unite all callers.
- Repeat steps 5-8, until you have called all participants.
- When the call is completed, press "TELEPHONE ICON" button to turn off phone.
Instructions for Receiving an Incoming Call
