Installing a handset lifter on a phone for use with a wireless headset.
These instruction are intended to supplement the instructions that are included with the HL10 lifter. The lifter is needed to answer your phone remotely using the wireless headset remote answer button.
M3904 Handset Lifter
- Note the tabs at the bottom of the base
- These tabs hold the base to the phone and can be damaged by rough handling

- Depress height button on m3904 phone and pull base gently away from body
- Separate the base from the phone to expose the jacks
- Plug the one end of the telephone interface cable into the handset port (the bottom port). DO NOT plug it into the headset port (the middle port). You can install the cable into the channel in the base of the phone but it will limit where you can put the headset base.
- Install the telephone base by inserting the tabs on the phone into the slots on the base and push gently but firmly.
- Depress the height button to allow the ridged piece on the base to slide under the button
- Release button to engage
- Remove only the two white strips on the back of the lifter
- Install the M3904 extender arm onto the handset lifter.

- Position the lifter on the phone such that the bar is lined up with the bottom of the cradle
- This positioning is very important.
- Be careful not to mount the lifter past the edge of the handset cradle so that it will not hang up nor too far away from the cradle that it gets stuck in the upright position.
- Push the rubber stops against the side of the handset
- Connect the curly cord from the handset into the jack on the lifter cord
- Connect the lifter cord into the base
- To check for smooth operation of the handset lifter press the silver button on the headset.
- The handset will be lifted out of the cradle and you will hear dial tone at the headset.
- Press the silver button again and the handset will lover into the cradle ending the call.
