Mike holds a Masters of Public Administration Degree  from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree from the University of Ottawa. He has also completed the Harvard School of Public Health Executives Leadership Strategies Program. He is an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University and regularly lectures at the School of Policy Studies and Faculty of Health Sciences. He has over 34 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in several organizations across Ontario and Northern Canada including management of the Emergency Department at Kingston General Hospital for over 10 years. In 2011, Mike joined Hotel Dieu Hospital as the Senior Director, Patient Care.  In 2013, he moved into his present role as the Chief of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Executive.  Mike has a strong commitment to patients and has a particular interest in developing new programs at Hotel Dieu Hospital and improving access to care for patients across the health care continuum.
