Greetings everyone, my name is Turtle and I am Turtle Clan. I originate from here on Turtle Island and come from a place called Bkejwanong Territory. I now live at a place named Crow Lake. Vern Altiman is my English name and I am very pleased to be your instructor here at Queen's University.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to introduce yourself in a culturally appropriate manner in Anishinaabemowin, as well as, understand concepts related to the language. I have studied Anishinaabemowin for over 25 years with many traditional Elders in our Anishinaabeg community and I’ve taught formally at Georgian College and in various other community capacities.

Prof. Altiman is teaching following courses:
LLCU 101: Beginning Language and Culture I: Anishinaabemowin I
LLCU 102: Beginning Language and Culture II: Anishinaabemowin II
