ASUS Orientation

With an exciting new chapter of your life about to start, an important question must be asked to you:  how do you feel? Don’t know the answer yet? Well by the time ASUS Orientation Week rolls around, you sure will!

The Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) Orientation is the largest faculty Orientation here at Queen’s University, with more than 2500 incoming students participating each year.  If you are in Arts and Science (Arts, Science, Fine Arts or Music) then this Orientation Week is for you!

During the week, it is our goal to orient you to:

·         Queen’s campus,

·         the Faculty of Arts and Science,

·         the Queen's and Kingston community, and

·         the people and resources that will make Queen’s feel like home.

At ASUS Orientation, all incoming first year students wear yellow Orientation t-shirts and will be placed in a group with upper year student leaders called "Gaels" (wearing blue t-shirts). Throughout the week, you will participate in some of our highlight events, such as an exciting Mud Race, a memorable tamming ceremony and a fantastic semi-formal dance!

On top of these exciting events, you will also participate in our annual Orientation fundraiser, which nearly $100,000 each year for a local Kingston charity. This year, we are excited to be supporting the Kingston chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society!

Head to the ASUS Orientation website to learn more about our week, its events, how to register, and the various resources around campus!

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact Head Gael, Sam Maclennan, at headgael@asus.queensu.ca

We can't wait to see you in the fall!

Please note that ASUS Orientation strives to be financially accessible and inclusive of people with unique accessibility needs. The ASUS Orientation website  contains information if you are interested in applying for financial assistance or if you require any accommodations.
