Advonex International Opens 12,000 Square Foot Pilot Manufacturing Facility

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Elizabethtown-Kitley, ON – Advonex International celebrated the Grand Opening of its new facility on September 6th, 2017. The company’s new facility, situated in Elizabethtown-Kitley, is where a new state-of-the-art production facility will be constructed, which will manufacture innovative products to meet the growing global demand for sustainable, renewable materials. Advonex is poised to be the leader in the transition from a fossil fuel-based to a sustainable, biologically-based economy, with the focus of reducing the world’s dependency on petroleum. Advonex's renewable ingredients will impact nearly every aspect of our lives ranging from engine lubricants, machining, surface coatings, cosmetics & personal care, inks, paints and many other everyday products used by consumers. This will reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions, helping Canada and the world meet its obligations under the Paris accords.

Advonex President and CEO, Chad Joshi, welcomed area officials to the event: Gord Brown, MP, Leeds-Grenville, 1000 Islands and Rideau Lakes; Steve Clark, MPP, Leeds-Grenville; Robin Jones, Warden, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville; and Jim Pickard, Mayor, Elizabethtown-Kitley. All officials welcomed Advonex to the community and presented scrolls to commemorate the event. “We are excited to learn that many government and industrial sectors within the St Lawrence Corridor have banded together to explore the development of a regional bio-industrial cluster similar to that in Sarnia Lambton. Advonex is looking forward to participating and growing within this cluster” said Dr. Joshi.

“We were very pleased to have our partners join us on this important milestone: Fran Lockwood and Gefei Wu from Valvoline Inc, Scott Austin from Minnesota Soybean Processors, and Brant Peppley from Queen’s University. We were also happy to have attend representatives from organizations that have assisted us along this journey, including: NRC-IRAP, Northumberland CFDC, Launch Lab, and Economic Development for United Counties of Leeds and Grenville” said Dr. Joshi.

Environmentalists have often urged us to think globally but act locally. Situated in Eastern Ontario, Advonex is on track to do exactly that. The company will influence the global economy with these new sustainable ingredients offsetting the need for petroleum-based ingredients, resulting in export opportunities and reduction of greenhouse gases. Locally, the company will provide new employment opportunities in Eastern Ontario and create additional revenue streams for area farmers.

“This time next year, our production facility will be operational, we will double our work force, and begin exporting these renewable ingredients to our strategic partners around the world who will then use them to make products so that consumers worldwide will enjoy the benefits of using sustainable, plant-based alternatives to petroleum-based products” said Michael Tkautz, Business Development Manager for Advonex International.
