Kingston, ON – TECTA-PDS is pleased to announce that the company has been named Ontario Export Awards Finalist in the Clean Technology Category.

The Ontario Export Awards recognize the successes of the province's various export companies, as well as their innovative approaches to doing business. The awards also celebrate the economic contributions exporters make to the provincial and national economies.

TECTA-PDS makes the world's first fully automated, EPA-approved E. coli total coliform detection system, making it faster, easier and less expensive to do on-site water testing for E. coli bacteria. TECTA-PDS technology is currently being used in more than 25 countries around the world. Researchers in the Florida Keys recently used TECTA-PDS technology to test water quality after Hurricane Irma. The Kingston-based company regained its independence as an entirely Canadian-owned company earlier this year.

“It means a great deal to us to be recognized with this nomination," says CEO Doug Wilton. "We have worked hard to grow our company and to build an international client base for our unique technology. This is a real vote of confidence that we're on the right track."

"We're proud of how much we have been able to expand internationally in the last year alone," agrees EVP Tim Adams. "It's been exciting seeing our clients using the technology for everything from testing water quality at public beaches, to managing sewer overflow. It's gratifying to know that we are helping people solve real problems."

The winners of the Ontario Export Awards will be announced on November 21 in Toronto.
