Queen’s researchers are working with the High Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL)’s facilities to delve into the challenging problem of modeling turbulent fluids. Progress is making it possible to predict blood and air flows in the human body, improve the reliability of hydroelectric systems, help helicopters land safely, mitigate oxygen depletion in lakes, and protect vulnerable waterways from sedimentation damage.
