About this Event

Do you struggle to pitch your product or service? Does the prospect of selling make you feel queasy? Do you dread appearing on-air for media interviews?

If so, join us for an engaging 90-minute workshop with seasoned, on-air media host Orlena Cain (The Shopping Channel, MIX 97, Audible and Amazon) to uncover the secrets of successful sales pitching.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Understand the importance of knowing your product or service
  • Learn how to begin designing a sales strategy to support what you’re selling
  • Get tips on pitching on-air to TV and radio audiences
  • Gain insight on how to get comfortable with selling

The session will end with time for Q&A with Orlena.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Orlena Cain worked as an on-air presenter at The Shopping Channel (TSC) for several years, and is also the owner of her own business, Sugarcain Entertainment. She has learned from the inside out how to pitch with power and has valuable advice to share with women entrepreneurs on how to sell their product persuasively to both on-air and regular audiences. Orlena is also a book narrator for Amazon and Audible and is a full-time morning radio show with Mix 97 in the Bay of Quinte.

ABOUT THE WE-CAN PROJECT:

The WE-CAN Project is led by Queen’s University and supported by the Government of Canada. Its mission is to inspire and empower existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs by providing them with tools, resources, expert mentors, networks and community building to expand existing businesses and to launch new ventures.

The Government of Canada, through FedDev Ontario’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Ecosystem Fund is providing $3.2 million for Queen’s University to design and deliver programs and services to accelerate, train, mentor and provide resources to women entrepreneurs and women-led companies in the community.

The focus of the WES strategy is to provide support to women entrepreneurs from diverse and underrepresented groups.
