About this Event

Loss has become an unexpected client for many business owners since the pandemic began. Many entrepreneurs have dealt with the death or illness of colleagues and loved ones, loss of business revenues and the constant pressure of fear and uncertainty.

Entrepreneurs are often unaccustomed to asking for help. Many are used to playing the role of the heroine, solving everyone else’s problems (and often ignoring their own) when faced with a crisis.

In this 90-minute workshop, you will:

  • Learn about the myths of grieving, both professional and personal
  • Recognize the various types of grief and their impact on your business
  • Get tips on how to support your team and yourself when faced with loss
  • Gain valuable insight on how to manage your emotions with powerful and simple mindfulness techniques

The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session with the presenter.

NOTE: Attendees will be emailed a Zoom link to the online session by separate email prior to the event.

The WE-CAN Project is committed to providing universal access to all of our events. Please contact Kerry Ramsay at kerry.ramsay@queensu.ca if you have accessibility requirements as soon as possible as advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Ophelia Rigault has over 20+ years of experience as a transformational empowerment coach, trainer and speaker on grief and loss, assertiveness communication, mental health and mindfulness practices.

She supports leaders, organizations, and community groups by inspiring them to create brave spaces for their people to have uncomfortable conversations on inclusion, mental health stigma, grief and belonging.

Ophelia knows what it is like to lose hope and she has experienced the horror of loss and betrayal. She also knows what it is to rebuild and come back resilient and wiser than ever.

She holds space for people across the GAP so they can transform their grief, anxiety and pain (GAP) into empowered and authentic living.

Clients engage Ophelia because of her attractive force based on empathy, compassion and a commitment to encouraging the heart.

Ophelia is a self-proclaimed scarf-oholic who enjoys spending time with her niece and is a radical self-care practitioner..
