The Nixon Academic Leadership Awards are presented each year to a male and a female athlete on a varsity club and a varsity team who have exemplified achievement in academics, community service and fair play in their sport. These awards are named in honour of Gord and Janet Nixon, two extraordinary benefactors to Athletics & Recreation.

Leslie Dal Cin, Executive Director of Athletics & Recreation, announced this year’s recipients of the Nixon Academic Leadership Award for the 2018-19 academic year. They were presented by Vice Provost and Dean of Student Affairs, Ann Tierney and Interim Provost, Tom Harris.
