Description:
An introduction to Newtonian mechanics - a subject which is applicable to everyday engineering problems. Lecture topics are: vectors, motion of a particle, particle dynamics, work and energy, statics of rigid bodies, oscillators, waves, conservation of energy, momentum, and collisions.
Recommended text: The text for APSC 111 and 112 is a custom text available from the bookstore. It is an abridged version of University Physics, with Modern Physics 13th edition, by Young and Freedman.
