New Ph.D. Graduates

The following PhD students recently completed the program:

Stephen Larin, “Challenging the Civic Nation” (co-supervisors John McGarry and Margaret Moore). Stephen joined the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney, Australia, as an Endeavour Postdoctoral Research Fellow in November 2012. He is conducting a comparative study of the relationship between civic nationalism and immigrant integration policy in Canada and Australia, and is supervised by Stephen Castles.

Stephen Noakes, "Advocacy Under Authoritarianism: Transnational Networks in China" (co-supervisors Bruce Gilley and Kim Nossal). Stephen joined the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto as a SSHRC post-doctoral fellow in September, 2011.

Alan Bloomfield, "Australia's Strategic Culture.  An investigation of the Concept of Strategic Culture and its Application to the Australian Case" (supervisor Kim Nossal).  This year Alan is teaching at Queen's Herstmonceux Castle in England.

Mira Bachvarova, "Non-domination and the Accommodation of Minority Social Practice" (supervisor Margaret Moore).  Starting January, 2012, Mira will be a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario.
