Burroughs Wellcome Fund: Career Awards at the Scientific Interface

BWF's Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (CASI) provide $500,000 over five years to bridge advanced postdoctoral training and the first three years of faculty service. These awards are intended to foster the early career development of researchers who have transitioned or are transitioning from undergraduate and/or graduate work in the physical/mathematical/ computational sciences or engineering into postdoctoral work in the biological sciences, and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research.


Burroughs Wellcome Fund: Career Awards for Medical Scientists

Career Awards for Medical Scientists (CAMS) provide $700,000 over a minimum of five years to bridge advanced postdoctoral/fellowship training and the early years of faculty service.  Candidate eligibility and institutional nomination requirements are set out below. The ideal candidate will be two years away from becoming an independent investigator, have at least two years or more of postdoctoral research experience, and have a significant publication record.


Postdoctoral Max Weber Programme

The Max Weber Programme started in September 2006 and is now the largest international postdoctoral programme in the Social Sciences and Humanities in Europe. The Programme is located at the European University Institute in Florence. It is funded by the European Commission (DG Education and Culture), which provides bursaries of one or two years for around 50-55 Fellowships. These bursaries are open to scholars from anywhere in the world (not just nationals of an EU Member State) who have received a doctorate in economics, law, history, social and political sciences, or a related field, within the past 5 years. 


CIGI International Law Research Program

The Centre for International Governance Innovation’s (CIGI) International Law Research Program (ILRP) is pleased to invite applications for post-doctoral research positions, in one or more of the areas of focus set out below.
CIGI’s ILRP invites doctoral students who are completing their S.J.D./Ph.D. in Law and those who have completed such a degree in the last two years to apply for these post-doctoral positions. The ILRP will be engaging up to five such candidates in 2014-2015. The post-doctoral award is valued at CDN$ 80,000.00 per year. Applications should be received by no later than September 30, 2014


Update: Teach @ Tübingen – Call for Applications from Matariki Partner Universities

The University of Tübingen’s Institutional Strategy provides financial support for expanding the number of courses it offers in English and for promoting the teaching competence of post-doctoral fellows or of PhD students who are at an advanced stage of their studies. This call for applications is especially focused on our strategic partner universities in the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU). 


NIBR Post-Doctoral Program

The NIBR (Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research) post-doctoral program provides postdoctoral scholars with a unique opportunity to perform innovative, fundamental research in a pharmaceutical setting. Postdocs design and conduct their research with guidance from a principal investigator at Novartis, and an academic advisor where appropriate. Both applications from candidates who wish to pursue a career in academia and industry are encouraged.
