International Visitors Program

Principal's Development Fund: Competition open

This Program aims to enrich the international dimensions of the university, both within our classrooms and within our research environment, by providing subsidies for international travel of scholars to Queen's and scholars and staff from Queen's.

1. International Visiting Scholars (Open Competition including Partner Institutions of the Matariki Network of Universities*)

Supports visits by scholars from outside Canada. Visits must be at least three working days on campus and must involve significant interaction with both students and faculty. Preference to joint applications from more than one academic unit.

Please note that due to new immigration requirements for international academic visitors, host departments are now required to complete a form and submit a fee of $230 payable to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The letter of invitation requirements have been updated accordingly.

2. Queen’s Visitors to Partner Institutions of the Matariki Network of Universities*

Supports initiatives that build new collaborations and broaden Queen's partnerships with fellow member institutions of the Matariki Network of Universities*. The Program provides seed funding to Queen's faculty and staff to help initiate a research, academic or administrative collaboration, to attend a workshop, colloquium or forum, or for a "bench-marking" study. Direct costs of research are not eligible.
