Principal's Development Fund
This Program aims to enrich the international dimensions of the university, both within our classrooms and within our research environment, by providing subsidies for international travel of scholars to Queen's and scholars and staff from Queen's.
Important Update to Principal's Development Fund: Category 1
April 16, 2020
The Office of the Associate Vice-Principal (International) has made the decision to postpone the deadline for applications to Category 1 of the Principal’s Development Fund until further notice.
The purpose of Category 1: International Visiting Scholars is to invite outstanding scholars from outside of Canada to Queen’s to engage in meaningful interaction with students. As you will understand, we are not currently in a position to be able to guarantee when such meaningful interaction will be able to resume on campus. Moreover, international travel is at present severely restricted. To invite applications when there is still a great deal of uncertainty as to whether any proposed activities could actually take place is not appropriate right now.
By revising the timeline, we hope that applicants will be able to develop their proposals with a greater degree of security and assuredness at a later date, knowing that their proposals are viable within the revised time frame of the funds offered.
We are looking forward to welcoming applications at a later date. Please watch this space for more information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
Sandra den Otter
