Budget Planning

Queen's budget planning process is designed to support the university’s strategic priorities: providing a dynamic student learning experience, advancing innovative research, maintaining financial sustainability, and supporting a diverse community of leading students, staff, and faculty. The university's activity-based budget model facilitates a transparent budget process and ensures the allocation of resources aligns with the university’s academic and strategic objectives.

The Role of the Provost

The Provost's Advisory Committee on Budget is responsible for providing advice on resource allocation and budget development decisions to the provost and vice-principal (academic). The provost is then ultimately responsible for overseeing and developing the university's budget, which is subject to approval by the Board of Trustees.
