Queen's Psychology's Jordan Poppenk among Queen's University Canada Research Chair Renewals

Congratulations to Jordan Poppenk who has been named among eight Canada Research Chair renewals for Queen's University! Jordan is Canada research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience - Tier 2.

Jordan's research involves using neuroimaging techniques to investigate what happens in the human brain when we retrieve memories. This research may improve our understanding of the impacts of brain injury, our ability to design educational approaches, and the treatment of intrusive memory disorders.*

The Canada Research Chairs Program invests around $295 million per year to attract and retain some of the world’s most accomplished and promising minds.With this announcement, there are now 1,836 Canada Research Chairs at universities across Canada, including 11 at Queen's University.*

Chairholders achieve research excellence in engineering and natural sciences, health sciences and social sciences and humanities.*

The Government of Canada invests in research excellence in the areas of health sciences, engineering, natural sciences and social sciences and humanities through its three research funding agencies: the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.*
