Funding and Financial Support: Queen’s Internal Fellowships

Students must have applied for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) funding award in order to be considered for nomination for any Queen’s Internal Fellowship opportunities.

Application Process
Candidates nominated for a Queen's Fellowship award are identified by PSYC Graduate Committee and ranked using the student's OGS application. Students are not required to prepare any additional application for the Internal Fellowships.

Queen’s Internal Fellowships are valued between $5,000 and $10,000 and are awarded on a competitive basis.

Queen’s Graduate Awards (QGA)
The PSYC Graduate Committee identifies which students will receive QGA. No other action is required by the student. QGA amounts vary from year to year. Specific details will be provided to incoming students via their admission offers and to continuing students via email.

Teaching Assistantships (TAs)
PSYC graduate students are expected to serve as paid Teaching Assistants in many of the undergraduate courses offered by the Department of Psychology. Full-time students are limited to an average of ten hours per week in each term. Teaching Assistants are governed by the TA/TF PSAC 901 Agreement available via the PSAC 901 website. The TA salary rates are included in the TA/TF PSAC 901 Agreement. TA application instructions will be provided to active PSYC graduate students directly.

Research Assistantships (RAs)
Research Assistantships are offered to PSYC graduate students at the discretion of the student’s graduate supervisor. Effective 01 May 2020 the RA salary rate is the same as that of the current TA salary rate as stated in the TA/TF PSAC 901 Agreement.

Graduate Research Fellowships (GFs)
Graduate Research Fellowships are offered to PSYC graduate students at the discretion of the student’s graduate supervisor. Fellowship amounts vary depending on the individual fellowship.
