The Journal of Future Conflict - Online Journal

Editor: Anthony Seaboyer

The Journal of Future Conflict is an online, open-access, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal of social science research and theory on political violence published by the Queen’s University Department of Psychology in cooperation with the Centre for Security, Armed Forces and Society (CSAFS) at the Department of Politics of the Royal Military College (RMC) of Canada, the Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) Education and Research Centre (ERC) as well as with support from Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC).

The aim of the journal is to understand emerging trends and patterns in the nature and character of political violence (both intra- and inter-state violence) and how they may impact future conflict across the spectrum of conflict. The journal also examines how advanced technology may change the nature and character of political violence, including how armed and unarmed conflicts are prosecuted.

The journal uses a focused thematic format, and each issue is devoted to a particular theme selected by the editorial board. Each issue is prefaced by an introduction from the editor on the topic covered, and authors are encouraged to identify and discuss social and psychological implications as well as policy, doctrinal, structural and capability implications of future conflict, while also recommending solutions or ways to address the deficiency, gaps or issues.

While longer articles will be considered, submissions should not exceed 7,000 words (including footnotes and references). All submissions are to use the APA format.
