OIPEP ‘Room of Horrors', October 27, 2014

Queen’s School of nursing and the Queen's Joanna Briggs Collaboration for Patient Safety (QJBC) is pleased to join the Faculty of Health Sciences Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice (OIPEP) in staging the the (5th) annual “Room of Horrors.”

The "Room of Horrors" is an interprofessional activity involving students and staff from Queen's Schools of Nursing, Rehabilitation Therapy, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Masters in Health Quality programs. This popular, fun event is scheduled to complement the celebration of CPSI’s Canadian Patient Safety Week and aims to increase awareness of patient and provider safety by engaging participants in problem solving with their health profession colleagues. Small teams are challenged to identify potential safety hazards in multiple scenarios staged in the Patient Simulation Labs at the School of Nursing. Prizes are awarded to the top teams and all participants receive certificates of participation.

Date, Time and Place:

October 27th, 4:30-6:00 pm (scheduled 30 minute team intervals);

School of Nursing Simulation Labs, Cataraqui Building, 92 Barrie Street.

To register, open the attached Room of Horrors poster and click on the registration link.  Or go to the School of Nursing website  and check under Upcoming Events (soon to be posted). Simply provide you name, discipline and indicate a preferred time slot. Register before October 15 and you'll be placed into a team and receive confirmation of your scheduled time.
