Summer 2021 - Will Live Music Live Again?


There is the argument that the pandemic has accelerated most trends – that this will be the end of smaller independent cultural spaces such as movie theatres, art galleries, live theatres, and struggling music venues. While we stay at home, those of us with time to think are pondering what the essential cultural experiences are in our cities and communities, and reflecting on the roles they play in our lives. I know that the kid whose nervous system went into meltdown that night in 1986 remains as excited as he was then about music, and the discovery of new music remains a euphoric experience …
