Spring 2021 - He's Gone, But


Donald Trump’s own share of the record high 2020 turnout was actually larger than in 2016. Almost half the voting population, some 74 million who voted for him in spite of everything, can’t be credibly dismissed as a fringe group. The vast majority of them are not white supremacists, rioters, or dupes of a cable conspiracy. So what hopes and accomplishments, real or presumed, led them after four years of the Trump presidency to vote for another term of the same?
