The Idea of North:

The Painting of Lawren Harris

- at the Art Gallery of Ontario

This fascinating exhibition had one aim during its US tour: to introduce American audiences to Harris’s work, showing him as an important modernist painter. This piece first appeared in Queen’s Quarterly 123/4 (Winter 2016).
