The little boys on the swing have no idea who Francis Drake was or the suffering he unleashed on the world. They do not know Frobisher, or Raleigh, or Hawkins, or Columbus or any of those disastrous men. They know how to hunt, and they know how to play, and they are off the swings and into the street with a handful of other little boys who have appeared like spirits out of the dark rocks. Peter Unwin is the author of numerous books, including the novel Searching for Petronius Totem and the story collection Life Without Death, shortlisted for the Trillium Book Award. His latest novel, Written in Stone, and his new poetry collection, The Infinite Park, have just been released by Cormorant Books. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.
