A white nationalist rally happened to be being held on the boulevard near the common room where Avi Leibovitz’s memorial service took place, so not many of his former friends and students were able to attend. The streets were blocked with police and with counter-protestors, and although normally most of Leibovitz’s students would be among those, by now they were getting tired of the effort. There were so many policemen and so few fascists it was becoming almost impossible to fight with any of them …
