What is it like being an Equity Ambassador?

Being Equity Ambassadors means we are responsible for representing Queen's University in welcoming and assisting new and potential students to the university. By presenting and answering questions in webinars, we are helping and preparing students with all the information they need to begin their journey at Queen's with the best foot forward.

Favourite thing about being an Equity Ambassador?

My most favorite thing about being an Equity Ambassador is being able to convey with new and potential students about my past experiences, things I love about my program and major, expectations when coming into university and the reality, as though I was an upper-year friend. I've been in their shoes before, and I totally understand how our incoming students must feel when coming to Queen's. I'm glad that the things I share in all of the webinars help the students to be sure about their decisions and best prepare for the 4-year journey ahead.

Favourite thing about Queen's:

There is 1 thing I love the most about being a Queen's student: living in Kingston. Kingston is the perfect blend between the small town and the city atmosphere. It has all of the criteria of a city with its colorful downtown while still having the peaceful atmosphere and tight-knit community that it is.

Advice for first year students:

Be open to help and don't be afraid to reach out for help when needed. Just remember that you are not alone. If you're struggling, that means that other people are struggling and have been struggling too. And quite frankly, getting through obstacles is always easier when you are doing it together.
