Tuesday, October 25th QWA is holding it's Fall Luncheon for all members at the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club on King Street West at 11:30 for noon seating. For all members, and especially new members, this promises to be an interesting event.
The guest speaker is the recently appointed musical director of the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, Evan Mitchell. This talented young conductor has delighted Kingston audiences since his arrival with his conducting but also, at times, with his enthusiastic sharing of his knowledge of the works presented, with his audience before the musical program starts.
On arrival there will be a greeter table where two of our members will make a note of your name, hand you a name tag and show you the lovely dining where lunch will be held. Prior to sitting, there will be a half hour mixer with open cash bar.
A delicious entree of wine-marinated salmon on salad greens or, alternatively, a hot stir-fry of fall vegetables on rice pilaff, will be served. Attendees are asked to state their choice when signing up. Of course, breads, dessert, coffee and tea will be included.
After the speaker, our president, Karen Nickel, will address the members briefly, bringing us up to date on interest groups, membership numbers and upcoming events.
Guests are welcome so, if a friend wants to hear the speaker or check out QWA, make a reservation, including meal choice. All who plan to attend must leave notice at the club rooms with cheque for $35.00 (or cash in an envelope), entree choice, food sensitivities (and guest cheque and meal choice if bringing someone) by Saturday October 22nd, 2016.
