I came to the study of religion via a slightly unorthodox route. I was always certain I wanted a career in the sciences so I completed my Bachelor of Science in biology right here at Queen's University. By chance I ended up taking a world religions course as an elective in my first year. Since that first course, I was hooked! Although I continued to enjoy my studies in biology, I found my interest was being swayed towards religion. So much so, I decided to minor in religious studies in my second year. Since then I have been interested in how the fields of biology and religion not only intersect but shape one another. Through this MA program I hope to further explore religion and ethics (particularly social ethics and bioethics), religion and public policy, as well as new religious movements. When I'm not serving at my family's restaurant, I enjoy spur of the moment travelling, eating anything sweet and skating!
