Colin Simonds

Colin Simonds is a PhD candidate in the Cultural Studies department at Queen’s University. His doctoral research focuses on Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and the more-than-human world. Specifically, it looks at how the Tibetan framework of “view, meditation, and conduct” can function to bridge the gap between value and action in both animal and environmental ethics and looks at the key role of contemplative practice therein. Outside of this core work, he is also working on forthcoming papers in the fields of contemporary yoga studies, mysticism, punk studies, and psychedelic studies.
