Queen’s has put in place protocols and practices to guide the university’s response in the event of a COVID-19 case on campus, and ensuring the continuity of teaching and learning in the event of an emergency.

Developed with input from Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health, the Continuity of Education Plan (CEP) outlines key guidance for faculty, staff, and students should COVID-19 cases be identified, and how teaching and learning is to adjust. It also includes helpful definitions of low-risk and high-risk contacts and instructions for each.

As a starting point, the CEP instructs that confirmed COVID-19 exposures or confirmed COVID-19 cases on campus should be reported to the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) at safety@queensu.ca or 613-533-2999. Individuals should not contact Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington Public Health directly. Any individual that tests positive, or who is a close contact of a COVID-19 positive case, will be contacted directly by KFL&A. Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should follow KFLAPH’s guidance for assessment and testing.
