James Stotz, Associate Professor

I am a faculty member in the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics, and Astronomy at Queen's University. My research group focusses on studying applications of Surface Acoustic Waves (SAWs) to novel systems, concentrating on Phononic Crystals and Semiconductor Spintronics. This latter research stream stems from the ability to transport electron spins using SAWs with semiconductor devices, which I developed while at the Paul-Drude-Institute in Berlin, Germany working with Dr. Paulo Santos and Prof. Klaus Ploog.
