Consultation Timeline

Phase 1
Dec. 14 – Jan. 29
  • Open for feedback from campus community on draft policy and procedure documents. 
  • All faculty, staff, and students will receive email inviting them to review and comment on draft documents.
  • One-on-one meetings will be held with representatives from the Alma Mater Society, Society of Graduate and Professional Students, Senate Educational Equity Committee, Queen’s Black Academic Society, Policy Advisory Subcommittee, and others (TBC).
Feb. 8 – Feb. 12 All feedback received during Phase 1 will be reviewed and considered by the Working Group and the university’s Senior Leadership Team.
Phase 2
Feb. 22 – Mar. 5
  • Second opportunity for campus community to provide feedback on the updated policy and procedure documents, complete with updates from Phase 1 feedback.
  • A summary of Phase 1 changes will be made available as well.
Mar. 8 – Mar. 9 All feedback received during Phase 2 will be reviewed and considered by the working group and the university’s Senior Leadership Team.
Phase 3
Mar. 16 Final versions of the policy and procedure documents will be posted for information.
Mar. 16 – May. 8

The final documents will move through Queen’s governance process, which includes: 

  • Approval by the Senior Leadership Team
  • Endorsement by the Senate (Existing Harassment and Discrimination Complaint Policy and Procedure will be repealed, subject to Board approval of the new policy and procedures).
  • Approval by the Board of Trustees
