Industry Internships

All students will participate in industry internships representing at least 20% of their time. Such internships will enable students to practice skills learned in the seminars while tackling practical problems in remote areas or Aboriginal communities. The projects on the internships will also be matched to the students’ research topics.

Upon returning from their internship, students will prepare a short report and relate their experiences and business knowledge to peers through a presentation day each semester. This process will assist in measuring the success of the students in acquiring skills, will improve their communication skills, and educate their peers. After their internships, students will continue to work in communities with industry partners as part of their ongoing field work on sustainable projects.
