Associate Dean represents Queen's in China
Dr Sandra den Otter, Associate Dean at the School of Graduate Studies, is currently in Harbin, China for the 2014 China-Canada Joint Workshop on Building Dual PhD Degrees. The workshop is co-hosted by the Harbin Institute of Technology in China and the University of Alberta in Canada.
Dual degree programs have many advantages, but requires a lot of joint curriculum development, joint research and supervision as well as a mutual credit transfer. The workshop brought together the U-15 Canadian Universities and the C-9 and E-9 Chinese Universities.
The China Scholarship Council will also use this opportunity to introduce its 2014 new initiative in eliciting innovative programs in international collaborative education.
