Interconnections: Navigating People, Culture and Society

Queen's Department of Sociology welcomes submissions to our annual graduate student conference.

We invite you to submit for our annual graduate conference, which provides an opportunity for participants an opportunity to present their work – in progress or already complete – in an open and friendly environment. Participants will have the opportunity to receive questions and feedback on their work from faculty and peers. It is an excellent professional development opportunity to well on your presentation in supportive environment. All graduate students and upper year undergraduates are invited!!

  • Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Media, Information, & Surveillance
  • Criminology, Policing & Law
  • Social Justice, Power & Resistance
  • Feminism, Queer Theory & Intersectionality
  • Critical Race & Indigenous Studies

Whether you have a project that is completed or is a work-in-progress, we encourage you to submit a project title, 100 word abstract, and contact information in a word document. Please e-mail your submission to

We would highly recommend this opportunity to all graduate students, especially MAs, this is a friendly accountable space to test out ideas and get some practice presenting. This would be an excellent venue to present in-progress papers, build on your work assignments, and present proposals!
