Awards Open to All Students:


E. Stanley and Nadine M. Beacock Scholarship

Established in January 2012 by the Estates of E. Stanley Beacock, B.A. 1942, and Nadine M. Beacock in addition to the proceeds of a Charitable Remainder Trust created by Nadine M. Beacock. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first entry undergraduate degree program. The award is renewable for three years provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in a full-time course load in each subsequent year.

Robert and June Brayshaw Scholarship

Established in May 2020 by the Estate of June Brayshaw and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first entry undergraduate degree program. 

Churchill First Generation Awards

Established in February 2018 by the Churchill Foundation and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to first generation students entering first year of any undergraduate degree program under the First Generation Admission Policy.

Debating Entrance Scholarship

Awarded to the top individual speaker at the Canadian National High School Debating Tournament who registers in the first year of a first entry undergraduate program at Queen's University.

Queen's University Excellence Scholarship

Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of a direct-entry undergraduate degree program at Queen's University.

A.J. and Margaret Grant Bursary

Awarded for general proficiency and is payable in three annual installments provided a minimum GPA of 2.7 (B-) is maintained each year.

Betty Harrison Awards for First Generation Students

Established in February 2018 by the Estate of Ester Margaret (Betty) Harrison and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to first generation students entering first year of any undergraduate degree program under the First Generation Admission Policy.

Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Howitt Entrance Scholarship

Established by a gift from the estate of Mr. Henry Dyce Howitt and awarded on the basis of high academic standing to a student entering the first year of any undergraduate program at Queen's University.

Indigenous Admission Award

Established in January 2010 by Chancellor David Dodge, B.A (Hons.) 1965, LL.D. 2002, and Christiane Dodge, B.A. 1964 and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to Indigenous students entering first year of any undergraduate degree program under an Indigenous Admission Policy

Professor John Matheson Scholarship

Awarded to a student entering the first year of any direct entry undergraduate program at Queen's University for high standing on two or more Grade 12U, or equivalent, Mathematics courses.

Agnes McLachlan Scholarship

Awarded for general proficiency to a candidate who achieved high standing in Grade 12U, or equivalent, French.

Janet and Thomas McLachlan Scholarship

Awarded to a student entering the first year of any direct entry undergraduate program at Queen's University for high standing in Grade 12U, or equivalent, English.

McLennan Foundation Scholarship

Awarded for general proficiency.

John W. McVicar Scholarship

Awarded to a candidate who achieved high standing on the Senior High School Mathematics Contest.

Memorial Scholarship

The Queen's University Memorial Fund commemorates students, alumni, faculty and staff in whose names donors have provided funds for the University. A scroll of the names of all those to be remembered is provided to each student benefiting from the fund. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit to students entering the first year of any undergraduate program at Queen's.

Lincoln Might Scholarship

Established in 1951 by Lincoln Might and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any direct entry undergraduate Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering degree program.

Alban H. Norton Entrance Scholarship

Established by Alban H. Norton, P.Eng., B.A. Hons. '36, and awarded on the basis of academic standing to students entering the first year of any undergraduate program at Queen's University. Two scholarships are offered.

Principal's Scholarship

Principal's Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first entry undergraduate degree program.

Marion Stewart MacDonald Scholarship

Awarded for general proficiency.

Stirling/Cape Entrance Scholarship

Established in May 2005 through a gift made to Queen's University from the estate of Brigadier General John Cape in honour of J.B. Stirling. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a full-time student entering the first year of any direct entry undergraduate program at Queen's University.

George Taylor and Lilian Coleman Taylor Scholarship

Two scholarships payable in four annual installments provided satisfactory standing is maintained each year.

Principal Wallace Freedom of Opportunity Award

Established in January 2013 by Drs. Alfred and Isabel Bader in recognition of Robert Charles Wallace, Queen's 11th Principal (1936 -1951), a just and fair man who opened the way to a Queen's education for Alfred Bader. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement to international students entering the first year of any first entry undergraduate degree program. Preference will be given to a refugee student. If no refugee students are identified upon admission, then the funds will be granted to international students demonstrating the greatest financial need who are from developing countries. If granted upon admission then the award is renewable for three subsequent years provided the student remains in good academic standing in a full-time course load.

Dr. Robert John Wilson Entrance Scholarship

Established in November 2002 and last revised in May 2017 by a bequest from the estate of Kathryn Anna Wilson in memory of her husband, Dr. Robert John Wilson Meds. 1941. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first entry undergraduate degree program.

Charles Frederick Young Entrance Scholarship

Established in October 2002 by a bequest from the estate of Edith Irene Young. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to an undergraduate student entering a first year program in any faculty or school of Queen's University.
