Meet the 2018-2019 Mentors

The BISC mentors are a select group of student leaders who attended the BISC in their first year of undergraduate studies and have completed their second year of undergraduate studies at Queen's University's Kingston campus. They know what it is like to familiarize themselves with a new campus and university environment. They understand the amazing year you just experienced, and they really are eager to make sure everyone has a fantastic second year of university.

I’m from the booming metropolis of Tillsonburg, Ontario, so I’m pretty excited to live somewhere "big" and with a bus system. I’m going into my fourth year as a Political Studies and Art History student. I spent my first year at the castle, where I fell in love with both subjects. On top of the BISC Mentorship Program I’m involved in Queen’s Music Club, and Queen’s Model Parliament. I run, play guitar, write, and am that white girl obsessed with coffee. I can generally can be found in a museum, or somewhere in the top floors of Stauffer.

I am in third-year majoring in Global Development, minoring in Gender Studies, with an International Studies Certificate. I am involved in the DEVS DSC, CIAO- Queen’s Italian Club, Queen’s Model Parliament, Woman in International Security (WIIS), BISC Mentorship, and I work for Home Events at Queens Athletics Centre!

I am an International student from Taiwan going into third year majoring in Geography and considering adding a certificate of Employment Relations. Besides the BISC mentorship program, I am in the executive team of Queens Taiwanese Student Association, member of Flow Dance, and a Gecko of the NEWTS orientation (don’t feel shy to say hi to me if you guys recognize me in Orientation week!) Can’t wait to meet you guys and don’t feel shy to shoot us messages if there are any questions ;)

I’m currently in my second year of the Life Sciences program here at Queens, and will be writing my MCAT exam this summer! On campus, I volunteer with the Best Buddies program and hope to join Queen’s Dance Club next year to learn ballet! Off-campus, I work teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding with the City of Kingston.
Other than that, I spend most of my time working in the library (my favourite is the Health Sciences one) or Cogro!

I'm an international student from China, currently in my second year majoring in Political Studies with Certificate in Law. I'm a Floor Rep at the Smith Residence and a member of the Queen's Chorus. I participated in the Queen's Model Parliament together with Katie and Brittany. I'm very academically oriented - I love research and stuff - so my highlight of the year would be presenting at the Inquiry@Queen's Undergraduate Research Conference. I'm also enrolled in the Queen's Undergraduate Internship Program. You will see me around if you register for the NEWTS Orientation Week!

Hi everyone! I am a second year Con-Ed student with a major in History and a teachable in French. I volunteered for Ontario Universities Fair and am a volunteer with the Breakfast Club. I took lessons with Queen's Dance Club (QDC) and am a member of the chamber choir Polyhymnia at the Dan School. Off-campus I was a volunteer for the Kingston Canadian Film Festival and am a volunteer tour guide for the Kingston City Hall. As well I am going on exchange next year. Other then that, I love to spend time with friends, going to different events and lectures happening around campus and am always at Douglas Library. Looking forward to meeting you guys and chatting all about your amazing experiences!
