  • Student Wellness Services now open, located on the 1st floor of Mitchell Hall

    We have moved to the Côté Sharp Student Wellness Centre, now open on the ground floor in Mitchell Hall.  Hours of Service are 9:00 - 7:30 from Monday to Thursday and 9:00 - 5:00 on Fridays. Phones are answered between 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Service Updates - November 2019

All clinics are operating at capacity. We appreciate your patience. Call 613 533 2506 between 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, to book an appointment with a health care provider. 

Urgent care walk-in health clinics run most weekdays and evenings. On Wednesday Nov 13, there are morning and evening walk-in clinics only. On Thursday Nov 14, there are afternoon and evening walk-in clinics only. There are many after-hours services (in person and online) available when our clinics are closed or reach capacity. If you need Emergency care in a life-threatening health or safety situation, call 9-1-1 or go directly to the local Emergency Department at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (entrance on King St. between George and Lower University).

Most counselling appointments are now booked same day by phone (613 533 2506), starting at 8:00am. Crisis support is available weekdays at Mitchell Hall or at the AMHS Mental Health Crisis walk-in clinic at 552 Princess St. (between Alfred and Frontenac) weekdays 8:30 – 4:00. Student can also call Empower Me 24/7 at 1-844-741-6389, Good2Talk 24/7 at 1-866-925-5454, or the local AMHS KFLA Crisis Line at 613 544-4229. Get your free flu shot! Flu and illness season is approaching. Student Wellness Services is offering free flu shots for all students, including dedicated flu shot clinics every Friday in November. Call 613 533 2506 to book your appointment! Make sure your vaccinations are up to date and practice good personal hygiene: wash your hands and use hand sanitizer; avoid sharing eating or drinking utensils; cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. Stay well!

Drug-related notices:

October 28, 2019-KFL&A Public Health has recently advised us that it’s believed an illicit drug called etizolam, sometimes called “street valium”, may be circulating in the area. It has been linked to fatal overdoses in Ontario, and has been mixed with opioids. Learn more about this emerging risk. 

September 26, 2019: Health Canada has recently announced that at its request, the distribution of ranitidine drugs, which are used to treat heartburn – by prescription and over the counter – be stopped while Health Canada assesses a potential health risk. Students who use this drug are advised to consult with a pharmacist. For more information, visit Health Canada’s website
