Making an Appointment

To schedule an initial in-person same day appointment, call 613-533-2506 Monday–Friday between 10:00am - 3:00pm.If all same-day appointments have been filled, students can call the next day, starting at 8:00am, for same day access. PLEASE NOTE TEMPORARY CHANGES IN BOOKING STATED ABOVE.

When booking an appointment, if you are already connected to a counsellor, ask for them by name. The priority is to maintain your connection with that counsellor. If they are not available, you will be given the option of seeing one that is. 

Counsellors will work collaboratively with students to develop an individualized care plan, which may include additional pre-booked sessions with the same counsellor, as well as referrals to skills or therapy groups, mental health resources, and/or other campus services and programs.

If all same-day appointments are taken, students can call the next day, starting at 10:00am, for same day access.

Please do not leave a voicemail message requesting to book an appointment; please call to speak to one of our reception staff during our business hours.  We also do not book appointments via email, as availability changes very quickly, especially during peak demand periods.

If you are in crisis, please come to the Cote Sharp Student Wellness Centre, Student Wellness Services, on the ground floor of Mitchell Hall between 10:00-3:00, Monday to Friday.

You can also access crisis and counselling services, 24/7, in many languages, through Empower Me at 1-844-741-6389, and Good2Talk, a provincial 24/7 post-secondary student helpline at 1-866-925-5454.

Checking in for your Appointment

The central counselling service is located in the Cote Sharp Student Wellness Centre on the ground floor of Mitchell Hall, 69 Union St.

For your first appointment of the academic year (since May 1st), please arrive 15 minutes before to complete paperwork. 

Check in at reception. 

Bring your student card with you. 

Cancelling/Rescheduling an Appointment

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment by calling 613-533-2506 Monday–Friday between 10:00am - 3:00pm and speaking to our staff member.

You can also leave a voicemail on our 24-hour confidential line.In your message, please include your name and student number, as well as the date and time of the appointment being cancelled.  

You must cancel more than 24 hours in advance or you will be charged a $30.00 fee to your SOLUS account.  This helps ensure your spot can be filled by another student.

Urgent Situations

If it is after hours, please consult this list of after hours resources and services available.

If it is Monday–Friday 10:00am–3:00pm, call us at 613-533-2506 and tell us that the situation is urgent; we will arrange for you to meet with a counsellor as soon as possible.
