VOICES is a multi-disciplinary showcase of painting, sculpture, costumes, and poetry that highlights and strengthens the marginalized voices that exist within the Queen’s community. The voices here are given platforms, celebrated, and accepted in this space. By acknowledging the historically inequitable distribution
of opportunities that exist in the world, humanity can take the next step in allowing for equity in expression—giving moments to truths that were once hidden, but now beautifully exposed, unhinged, and amplified. Exhibit includes: Don’t Touch My Hair— a sculpture installation targeting the fetishization of black
hair; community stories gathered by the intersectional feminists called “Humans of Worth” (H.O.W.); and Dazzling Drag Design with three individuals in the Queen’s drag community who will design outfits of their choice.

THE EXHIBIT IS PRODUCED BY QUEEN’S ARTS AND SCIENCE UNDERGRADUATE SOCIETY WITH THE ISABEL FEATURING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AMBITION AND LIFE INCLUDING MEMBERS OF: HUMANS OF WORTH, QUEEN’S FINE ART PROGRAM, RESURFACE PUBLICATION, ASUS SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE, AND QUEEN’S NATIVE STUDENT ASSOCIATION.
