The revitalization of music is a catalyst for the promotion of culture more generally, as well as language and Indigenous ways of living and knowing.  When people started singing Indigenous songs, it ignites a fiery  passion for all elements of culture. I believe song is a critical method of language and value learning and, by extension, a specifically Wolastoqiyik worldview.   Psiw-te npomawsuwinumak kiluwaw yut! (All my people, this is for  you!)” - Jeremy Dutcher

Resound will bring together Indigenous artists working with archival images and songs recorded in their communities by early ethnographers.
In remediating these images and songs, Bracken Hanuse Corlett, Dean Hunt, and Jeremy Dutcher ‘resound’ the archive.

Dean Hunt (DJ/Production) and Bracken Hanuse Corlett (Live-Visuals) are the creative force behind See Monsters, a group that has performed as a unit across Turtle Island since 2011. See Monsters dives deep into the realms of Northwest Coast bass music—fused with moving light and images. Both artists retain sonic and visual connection to their Indigenous lineage and bring forth a fused performance of Northwest Coast bass and moving light and images. They are known to transform the spaces in which they work.

Wolastoq singer/composer Jeremy Dutcher’s album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, resounds the melodies come from the oldest known field recordings of the Indigenous peoples along the St. John (Wolatstoq) river basin. This signature presentation of Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa will feature a live video component created in collaboration with Bracken Hanuse Corlett.
