The Small Things is a story told through dance, spoken word, original music, and video projections and features performances and contributions by over 50 remarkable H’artists and guest artists. Working with several talented choreographers throughout H'art Centre's fall season, the performers created original dance pieces that range from whimsical to surprising. As our story opens, we see tiny flower seedlings attempting to push through the earth. Finally, the seedlings break ground, move obstructions, and take on leaves and petals –– and some blossom in their own way. Can we slow down, take a closer look at Nature, and recognize all blooms contribute to a complete bouquet of life? Told in three parts, the dances are complemented by video projections of parents and their adult children sharing their journeys, perspectives, and real-life experiences. The Small Things is a moving narrated dance performance unlike anything you’ve seen.
