Orchestra Kingston and The Quinte Symphony present ‘Grand Finale’ – A performance of works for large forces.

Orchestra Kingston and The Quinte Symphony are joining forces to present a concert of works for large orchestra.

This will be a rare opportunity to hear compositions that do not get performed very often due to the large number of instrumentalists required.

John Palmer (Music Director of Orchestra Kingston) and Dan Tremblay (Music Director of The Quinte Symphony) will share the conducting duties.

The performance will include the following works:

Meistersinger Overture – R. Wagner (1813-1883)

Procession of the Nobles (Cortege from Mlada Suite) – N. Rimsky-Korsakov (1844 – 1908)

Marche Slave, op.31 – P.I. Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893)

Crown Imperial – W. Walton (1902 – 1983)

Intermezzo – P. Mascagni (1863 – 1945)

Overture for Winds, op.24, C Major – F. Mendelssohn (1809 – 1847)

Festive Overture – D. Shostakovitch (1906 – 1975)

Danza! – A Suite of 4 Latin Dances – John Palmer. (Premier)
