Experience the award-winning bronze and ceramic sculptures by Liu Shiming (1926-2010) in the exhibition "Liu Shiming: Spirit of Daily Life"
Please join us (by invitation only) on Thursday, February 15 at 3 pm - 5pm, in the Art and Media Lab at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts for the closing ceremony for the exhibition Liu Shiming: Spirit of Daily Life, curated by Daria Murphy (Queen’s PhD student in Art History) with the assistance and support of the Liu Shiming Art Foundation, New York, and exhibition design by Caryn Xie (Queen’s BFA student). Refreshments will be served, and the event will include remarks from the Liu Shiming Foundation, Queen’s University, and the curator. The exhibition brings together a collection of bronze and ceramic sculptures by Liu Shiming (1926-2010), one of the first generation of Chinese sculptors who trained in the People’s Republic of China. The exhibition coincides with a recent donation by the Liu Shiming Foundation to Queen’s University, which will fund an award for a deserving fine art student. The exhibition has a soft opening on February 6 and will close February 16. The gallery is opening daily from 10am to 4pm.
