Government and Institutional Relations

The Government and Institutional Relations (GIR) unit manages Queen’s University’s relationships with the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, and provides advice and support to senior administrators and the broader campus on matters related to government relations, public policy, and government advocacy. GIR is also responsible for campus and neighbourhood relations.

As well, the unit also manages the University’s relationships with external post-secondary advocacy organizations and is responsible for meeting Queen’s legislated reporting obligations under lobbying legislation.

Reporting to Vice-Principal University Relations, Michael Fraser, Government and Institutional Relations is part of a portfolio that also includes University Communications.
