Queen's Research Opportunities Funds (QROF)

The 2018-19 Queen’s Research Opportunities Funds (QROF) competition is now open. Helping to advance the objectives of the Strategic Framework and the Strategic Research Plan, the QROF provide researchers and scholars financial support to accelerate their programs and research goals. The funds also offer an opportunity to leverage external funding to build on areas of institutional research strength.

The QROF consists of four funds:

Research Leaders’ Fund – for strategic institutional commitments to aspirational research in support of the university’s research strengths and priorities

International Fund – to assist in augmenting the university’s international reputation through increased global engagement

Arts Fund – designed to support artists and their contributions to the scholarly community and to advancing Queen’s University

Post-Doctoral Fund – to both attract outstanding post-doctoral fellows to Queen’s and to support their contributions to research and to the university

Letters of Intent are now being accepted for the Research Leaders’ and International Funds (deadline December 15, 2018). Applications for the Post-doctoral Fund (deadline January 30, 2019) and the Arts Fund (deadline March 1, 2019) are also being accepted. Please note the Research Leaders’ and International Funds have been changed to one-year funding periods. This change will enable more projects under the Research Leaders’ and International Funds programs to be funded.

For further information on each of the funds and how to apply please visit the Vice-Principal (Research) website.
